Went to Ortho on Monday and he said leg doesn't look bad and wants to wait a couple of weeks cause I am getting back use pretty quickly. He doesn't know about Spidey powers I guess.
I will wait and see before I ask for an MRI.
This happened to my other leg about 8 years ago and it's been fine ever since the incident.

If the squats didn't hurt, maybe you're on the mend.

Last nights workout was a bit unusual for us. We ordered about 1700 lbs of steel from a place here in Everett and went to pick it up with the van towing Jason's car trailer.
We got 6 3"x4"s each 20 feet long. They weight about 260lbs each. 2 quarter inch thick 12" wide by 20' long steel plates each weighing 204lbs and very wiggly. 1/2" by 2" by 20 steel flat bar weighing 68lbs and wippie!
The Steel company tied everything up with heavy steel wire and used an overhead crane to load the stuff on the car trailer. Jason tied it down with ratchet straps and after an adventure in a local gas station putting gas in the van drove home.
Jason backed the trailer into the drive way up to the garage and we started to unload the steel. Holy crap was that stuff heavy. A 260lb 20 foot length of rectangular tubing is a workout moving from the tailer to the back of the garage. After moving the first one in and dropping it on my foot I managed to trip over the first bar bringing in the second one. Eventually we got all the bars in and then brought the plates in which are difficult cause they flop around as well as being heavy.
This morning I was sore in my biceps, back and knees. I was in some awkward positions and it's gotten damp and cold around here.
Hopefully Monday I'll be back to my normal workout routine.

Wow. They should have that as an event in the Strongman competitions.

Sounds like the normal routine will be easier than unloading the trailer.

What's the steel for? (other than a killer workout)

The steel is for a chassis table. It's a JIG that we will use to finish up building the chassis for my race car. Everything has to be true and level so that when you weld the tubes and set up the ride height of the car you have a good point of reference. The garage floor isn't level enough in any house to do this. I bought some adjustable feet to go on the bottom of the chassis table so we could level it. Jason is going to bring some of the 3 x4 cut rectangular tubing to his job make it perfectly straight. Those pieces are 16 ft long and leads into last night's 'workout'.
We were going to do our regular workout, but I figured since it wasn't raining we could cut some of the 3x4's to 16' from the 20' lengths we had. So we put on our worst clothes and went out to the garage. First we had to move the quarter inch thick by 12" wide 20ft long steel plates. These things are brutal to move. They sag in the middle and are very hard to turn onto the edge side to carry, so we just picked each one up, one on each end and carried them out of the way. They were on top of the 3x4's. Jason said they weight about 260 lbs. When you lift them they sag and you have to grip them hard or they would slip out of your hands.
Next we moved a 3x4 outside and set it up on the cut saw. Jason would cut through as far as he could and then we would turn it over and finish the cut. We did 4 of the 6 3x4's to 16ft. The other pieces will be cut to other lengths later. The cutoff wheel was getting worn down so we stopped for the night. We spent one and a half hours doing that and re-stacking the 16 footers and 4 footer. We also had to vacuum up all the steel dust from the cutting or my drive way would be red from rust.
While moving one of the 20 footers the edge on my side caught my sweat pants and tore through them. Didn't care about that, but it also gave me a nice scrape on my leg. Can't remember when I had my last tetanus shoot so I am going to call the doctor today. It isn't a bad cut, but you never know what is in the metal that could cause an infection.
I remarked to Jason last night that we need to start doing some more GPP work to make us tougher for this kind of stuff. Moving that heavy stuff had me puffing. We had to carry the 3x4's around 30ft and then get them set up on the saw. Lots of side ways stuff and bending with awkward material.
What's really annoying is that when I was Jason's age I was at least twice as strong as I am now. Spider powers must be wearing off.
More steel tonight. Need tougher clothing and better balance.

Tuesday I went to the doctor to have the scratch checked out. I was concerned with infection and having my tetanus shot if needed. Doctor said it looked good and when they checked I had a shot a year ago. Jason wanted to know what I did to need it. ;D I said when you Capitan action your bound to get a few scrapes and bruises.
Last night we loaded 4 of the now 16ft tubes on Jason's car trailer and took them to his job so we could straighten them. We carried the first one over my protests of never lifting anything that you can use a cart for. After all what's the sense of being the smart monkey if you don't act like it.
Jason straightened the tubes in about and hour and a half. He used a straight edge to see where the high spots were and then used a press to put pressure on the spot until it was straight.
After the first piece of tube was carried in he found a cart so we could move the stuff easier. There was also a small crane there so i had some fun with that...just a little cause he works there.
So after that we loaded the trailer up and drove home. We will have to go back tonight and do the last one as we ran out of time.
Carrying these kinds of things around is one of the main reasons I do weight lifting. I like to be able to do things without asking for help, or if I am doing things like this with my son, I want to be able to hold up my end. ;D ;D ;D
Is there any way of posting pictures on this sight?

Bench press flat 40 x 20 95 x 15 135 x 5 2 sets 185 x 8 for jason 185 x 13 for me 185 x 6 for jason 185 x 8 for me
Pull downs 75 x 15 95 x 15 115 x 15 for 2 sets.
Jason has to work from 6 am to 11 pm tomorrow so I didn't want to push too much on our first day back. Did pretty good on the bench press and no aches or pains. I did the presses the way I described them in the IOL thread.

Friday's rainy day workout. Closed up garage and put heater on for a few minutes to kill the chill and bring the temp to 70.
Squats 55 x 10 110 x 10 150 x 10 150 x 10
Bench press 40 x 20 95 x 15 135 x 5 2 sets 185 x 8 for Jason 185 x 10 for me 185 x 7 for Jason 185 x 12 for me
Pull downs 75 x 15 95 x 15 115 x 15 2 sets
curls 65 x 10 for 2 sets
Wasn't much in the mood for a workout, but Jason got washed up and ready to go so we worked out. One guy needs to drag the other some times. Once I am moving I am OK.
Yesterday I was moving heavy living room furniture and family room furniture making room for a couple new Lane recliners. All my furniture weights a ton and is hard to lift. Plus I really don't like to lift anything that doesn't have a number cast into it. A couple hours of moving, vacuuming and cleaning was a workout in itself.
Enough whining for one night.
Jason has to go on 12 hour shifts so that will change our workouts a bit. Thinking Sunday and Thursday full body. I can do a little more on some other days, but don't want Jason to get too tired out.
That's it for tonight..
