Thanks Jason! There's another training ride this weekend - I may try your beer idea Al - I'll have you know I took a loooooooooong shower (mostly because I couldn't lift my legs high enough to step out of the tub). This weekend I'm going to fry the legs again, but in reverse.....run on Saturday and another bike ride on Sunday. So far this week, it's been recovery and rehab. Lots of massaging the calves and a little foam rolling once they could stand it. Neck and shoulder are stiff from the fall, just doing some stabilizing movements for them. Need to be fresh so I can keep up with the group again this weekend. I'm going to try some different sports drinks to see if I can avoid a repeat. Bought a new helmet just in case, lol.

April 12th Finally felt rested and recovered enough to try a light workout. 4 min segments of: Rowing Squat w/OHP 1 arm KB presses Rowing Decline sit ups Push ups Followed with a 2mile run and 1mile walk with Nick. April 13th Bike ride - 52 miles no falling only slight muscle cramping at 40 mile mark drank one bottle of Revive and one of Gleukos, both have potassium I'm tired today, but not totally wiped out like last week.

The potassium should help with the cramping:))

Exactly! I think it did help. No charley horses this time; the slight cramping in my calves and thighs went away as soon as I lowered the resistance and slowed down a bit.

Now don't go slappin' yerself Al, it wasn't your fault. It was the other Al that I blame and so should you!! ;>) Pete he who walks in the land of desolation
Colleen, be vewy, vewy cautious with the Potassium content of those drinks, there's a reason why they limit the supplement tablets to 91 or 92 milligrams! You're probably already aware of that fact, but, just in case, and because I like ya!! - The other more serious and compassionate Pete

I'll be careful, Pete - but the cramping the week before let me know I needed some electrolytes and I figured two 16 oz bottles over that long of a ride wouldn't be a problem.
April 14th heavy bag - punches & kicks
I've got company now through the weekend - see y'all next week!

Whoa, bada-bing, bada-boom! I have a "plethora" (FunknWagnall) 'o heavy bags in my "Lair". I don't kick them however, although I guess that wouldn't be a bad option. From "hard" experience as both kicker and kickee on a cement "ring", if it came down to the real deal, just punch as needed until opponent attains a horizontal position and then go Jersey City on 'im!! Of course training for it's own sake is a different matter altogether!!
Colleen: I'm certain you know more about that subject than I do. I just happened to notice that the FDA restricts supplements to around 90 sump'n mgs. In a Sports Drink, I guess that's regulated differently. Hyperkalemia be bad ju-ju apparently!! Enjoy your company now! ;>)

Had a great visit with my sister. We stayed busy, lots of walking - found some new trails, helped a friend do some moving so we got our exercise carrying things up and down the stairs.
Took yesterday to play catch up at work, will get in some kind of workout after work this evening.
