Oops, not ignoring y'all - just crazy busy. Don't think you met this gal, Al, I know her through work.
I've been keeping up with the hiking, the biking and some running - but the pattern seems to be that work fills my days during the week and activities fill the weekends...the weekend warrior syndrome. That's the perfect set up for an injury so I've been trying harder to squeeze in some strength moves during the week. Please remind me of this and stay on my case, ok?
I was happy with the 10k last Sunday - kept the same pace that I did for the 5k I ran in April. I've been getting in some short runs on Wed and Fri am's - and I'm shooting for a workout this evening. I've got a hike on Sat, but I don't think there's a bike ride scheduled this weekend. Might be a good time to take my bike to the shop for a check up, I think I need new brakes.

Yea, glad you've got me by a few years.
Hey, sweetie, given the amount of time you have available, I think you're doing great. Keep on keeping on and try to maintain what you have, until you have time to pick up the pace again...hopefully, before the next Hood to coast!

Didn't get in much weight work last week either, except for some body weight squats and some light OH pressing. As soon as this big bicycling fundraiser is over (next weekend) I expect my schedule to even out just a bit.
Had another great hike on Saturday...King's Mt. in the coast range. 2500' elevation gain over 2.5 miles. We got to the top in 2 hours and spent 30 min in the fog and mist at the top. I'd forgotten to pack my heavy gloves but I had an extra pair of socks in my pack, so I put them on my hands (couldn't resist doing the sock puppet thing - funny how quickly we revert to childhood ). It took us about 1.5 hours to get back down.

Reading this was funny. As soon as I saw socks, I was thinking sock puppets before I finished reading. Revert back to childhood? Some of us never left:))

Made time for some work yesterday evening....rowing, pressing, BOR's, OHP's, eliptical, curls, kickbacks, and lots of lunges. Not a lot of weight, but it felt good to be moving and working up a sweat.

Speaking of paws, I just noticed the sock references and this reminds me of when I was young. I was an orphink, and the only friend I had was a sock puppet I named "Sockrates"! I used to wait for someone to pass by, gesticulate (Can I say that?) wildly with "Sockrates" and yell "Sock it to me baby!!" To this very day, I find myself putting my socks on my hands instead of on my feets!! Things don't change much do they?! ;>)

LOL - Thanks for the laughs, guys.
Did a quick run yesterday morning and worked a long day preparing for this weekend's event. For these next couple of days there will be lots of lifting boxes, loading and unloading trucks, and generally running around putting out fires. Saturday I'll be heading to the beach along with 2500 of my closest friends (www.reachthebeach.org if you're curious). Y'all have a great weekend!!
