blood pressure went from upper 130's over 70 to 122 over 70..heart rate still at 58..

log.. weight this morning 145 lbs. last 2 days good paddling.. today in white cap conditions..butt kicker day.. walked 1 hour yesterday after kayaking then did 5 sets of pushups..

My pressure sometimes goes up to 140/90 but is generally in the 130s over 80 range. Gonna be tough for us to overcome the genetics. Good luck.

I'm tryin' to beat the genetics, by losing more weight, and cutting salt.. I don't add salt to food anymore..that's tough for me.. I was heavy handed with the salt shaker... log: kayaked this morning.. moderate speed .. lots of rest in between paddling to fish... afternoon.... walked for 45 minutes

We were just discussing the role of salt in high blood pressure on another forum. I understand cutting salt almost guarantees a big drop.

Yeah they say to cut salt to reduce the blood pressure. I cut a lot, but it's hard because so many products have sodium in them...even my tomato sauce has salt in it and I haven't gotten used to salt free sauce yet..someday, but not yet... I never add salt now and try to get salt free products when I remember... I'm workin' on it, as they say.
log: yesterday lots of 'yakin' and strenuous fish fightin' fast walk 45 minutes
today.. fast walked 45 minutes numerous sets of push ups(incline) 5 sets of chins.. ab exercises including 100 crunches on the ball morning weight 144 lbs.

Yeah fishin's good.. more quality blues then quantity.. a number of 8 to 10 lb. fish.. You really strain to get them up while sitting low in a kayak.. it does give a good workout , but you have to get a bunch of big blue's to make it strenuous.. keeping the 'yak stable while fighting a big fish as they dive down , go up, and go every which way including behind you gives a full body workout.. other fish Except BIG stripers don't give ya the muscle work and stripers as good as they are don't do it as good as blues.. My weight is dropping and Sue says she sees more cuts in my delts.her delts are more cut then mine though
log: today jumped for 40 minutes on rebounder then later fast walked at beach for 45 minutes..rested upper body..

weighed myself today.. 143 lbs. blood pressure 121/70.. Still can't shed the handles..My father in law said I have no butt.. guess I need some junk in my trunk as they say..
Today made it 6 months without any meat...that was my goal so now I can be normal..
log for last 2 days.. both days... kayaked then later walked at beach for 45 minutes.. today after 'yakin' did 2 sets of 30 push ups.. too tired to push harder...fishin' slowed down, little devils are real finicky...

Thanx Jason...wasn't sure if I could do it because, although a rarity for me , sometimes I have to be out socially and hard for me to pass up meat in a restaurant, but on the 2 occasions I went out in the 6 months I had fish , but I sure wanted meat
Colleen...I'll have steak if I get below 140. Wish I had your endurance, if I did I could break the 140.. I can't run and I can do an hour fast walking, but that's it....
